i started soldering like 10 years ago, in that windows i got 2 soldering station, a 9xx like one with included hot air station that just died pretty quickly (iron heating part beyond repair) and then a yihua 937d.

For like 6-7 years i was amazed how people manage to make clean solder and having the solder wire sticking to the tip.
I bought a LOT of tips tried various techniques and always had hard time getting an easy soldering experience, especially with microsoldering. Doable but unpleasing and kinda frustrating.

A few years ago a friend gave me a TS-100 and out of the sudden soldering was a really pleasing and much easier task. Consistent behavior regarding the displayed temp, no adhesion issue ...
Im now using a TS-80 and a pinecil.

this can be only by bad experience as electronic/soldering is just an hobby and i never study this but my recommendation would be to go for a TS-80 or investing a bit more and going directly for a weller/hanko... stations maybe (never had one) but skipping the cheaper chinese brand for microsoldering.just my 2c 🙂

I don't like portable solder pen!

I forget to add that I already have 2 solder station with which I am not satisfied:

- Weller WTCP-S 50W -> it's not powerful enough, I figured out it should be at least 70-80W and I can not set temperature
- China 2in1 8878D (solder station 80W and hot air 800W) -> solder tips are not ok - I replaced them with 3x different types and still not good quality...poor quality

So I know that you said from China, but if you wanna spend a little extra cash and get a Hakko fx-888D. You can get the base unit for about 105USD And the hot tweezer for around 210USD. Have had Great experience with hakko, and their customer support is awesome

Thanks for the suggestion. I was looking also for Hakko FX-888d but then found "Aixun T3A or T3B with T245 or T115".

Are those two models even comparable - based on some review which I watched I would say no. Does anyone have both or at least tried both?

Can I inquire into what kind of work your going to be doing with the iron/hot air stations?

Hobby -> mostly RC hobby, small repairs for my own electronics, soldering of components (SMD 0406, 0805) to my PCBs which I made etc.

So I know the hakko has the option for hot tweezers, but I don’t if that’s for the aixun.
However the ability to hot swap the tips is a amazing feature. I personally love that on my hakko fx-100. If your looking to swap tips a lot during your soldering work I would lean more towards the aixun.

Go with Yihua 907bd+ Station with a 907M tweezer or 938b stand alone as they have outstanding USA sales and service. I would bet my life on a precise Yihua hand set and the 907bd+. The handset is between $40-60 and is precise and angles to the pins.

You can buy just the handset for a compatible base(907)
If your not doing production like Alex then Hakko solder tweezers are an expensive luxury that a second soldering handset like a 907 dual unit makes more sense. I only use a USB pen on super small components for precision and heat control. Hakko tweezers are like a butcher knife in surgery for the rare use of that item.Two Iron tips also reduces total thermal stress that the big tweezers or hot air creates. I've only been doing this for 48 years and learned the trick in the USN doing board level repairs underway at sea.I was a Fire Control technician and our repairs were mission critical so soldering was done like your life depended on it and heat sinking components was part of removal.
Blasting discrete semiconductors with a furnace is actually bad. Seems that is not taught anymore.
Get the Yihua 907 dual station and separate hot air rework.
