While I was trying to fix hardware issue with Bluetooth not working on a ASUS LAPTOP (GU603HM) 2021 ROG Zephyrus M16. I had to remove power from device by disconnecting battery to drain power from caps, while trying to reconnect battery the hold down mechanism which is made of metal slipped and came in contact with main SSD contacts and sparked. When I power back up, now, only the CAPS LOCK light comes on for a few seconds then goes off and now that is all that it does. I believe the sparks were from SSD area, but it may have been someplace else in that vicinity.
I would start by looking for any sign of smoke or burn on the board. Then I would make sure I was getting full power from the power adapter and then start following the power line in to see if it shorts somewhere.
If you find any sign of burn start checking the components around that area.
