Hi, I'm trying to repair a laptop from a family member which came with broken missing pads under the SuperIO chip (My nephew has reallllly bad soldering skills). The traces are clean, only pads are missing.
Which pads strips set should I order ?
I have tried all four types of pad strips sold by Northridge. The easiest pads to work with are #2. These pads are thicker than the other copper foil types strips and easier to place on the PCB. The other pads are very thin and difficult to remove from the backing.
Set #2 has fewer pads than the other sets, but unless you are doing a lot of this type of repair, there are more than enough pads. The pads come in a unlabelled package, so I presume they are a generic product from China.
