I need help in troubleshooting an Asus STRIX GL703GE. This laptop has no working keyboard and keyboard lights. Device Manager does not show any keyboard at all (it shows a USB keyboard if connected, but not built in). The touchpad and ON/OFF button are ok. I checked keyboard circuitry on a motherboard, and everything seems to be good except there is no KBL_EN signal on pin #64 of IT8296E120A Keyboard Controller (U23, +3V_S5 is present). Pin #63 LED_PWR#_KB has 3.6V. Pin #1 on KCN1 KB CONN has 5.1V, pins #7-30 have 2.5V. G524 Power Distribution Switch (U24) is not shorted: pin #5 - 5v, pin #4 - 0V, pin #1 - 0V. Replacement keyboard brings the same issue.
Does that mean U23 IT8296E_LQFP-64 chip is faulty? If so, is it necessary to program new IT8296E chip?
