Hello,

iMac needs lcd lvds connector for the screen. We were told hdd was dead. So,  It’s been sitting for 5 years, I decided try to fix it, not a computer tech but familiar with them.
My attempt… Not going so well. 
Might be a bad picture, but my first attempt to remove the connector. 
any advice would be appreciated, is it done for?
