Greetings

Wondering if anyone might have any thoughts on following

I mounted this Gigabyte B760 motherboard and it did not boot - I eventually found ram slots 1 & 2 to be faulty

3rd and 4th worked perfectly but of course there was no dual function since default for this is 2nd and 4th slot

I RMA'ed it and they sent me these nice photos (attached) of the backside mounting holes where there is exposed copper and basically said the card is destroyed from my own doing and warranty is no longer void - They did not test the card and point out what specifically "destroyed" it, they only looked at the "damage" and concluded I killed the card

I have never in close to 30 years and many builds seen this happen and I guess my question is have anyone else and can someone confirm that this would indeed kill the connection to the ram?

I don't understand why there would be any connections this close to the mounting holes "at risk" if this is the case

Perhaps someone can clarify?

I am awaiting answer from Gigabyte support but to be honest I am not expecting any good news from them 🙂

Thanks to anyone that might give me som thoughts on this and if it is not allowed or relevant in this forum I apologize

Cheers
