Hello from Thailand. I have been your fan for more than 6 month now. 🙂

I want some help and I cannot find anywhere then I notice you open a forum for ask a question the I’m here.

About the component is my laptop getting overheat all the time and I look through thermal cam and 1 of inductor is getting very hot the value on it is R22 969 C96 but I cannot find anywhere so I want to know that I can replace it with only R22 Value or not?

Thanks in advance

The picture is in attachment.

Hi, yes as long as the coil is R22 and of the same size it should be fine.

The inductor is likely not the problem. It's never the inductor unless you see physical damage, crack or abnormal discoloration as per some of the videos we did on iPad pro 10.5. Measure the inductor for continuity.

ok then I have to check for more components that cause the inductor to go overheat.

Any suggest?

Thanks.

Are you certain it's the inductor overheating, and not a nearby part, or something on the other side of the board? A filter that small (0.22 μH is pretty small) will only have a few turns, and the resistance you'd see from it is basically 0 (~3mΩ, most multimeters won't show below maybe 0.1Ω), so it's unlikely it would heat up even if it were faulty.

I'd check the other components immediately surrounding it - there are caps, diodes, and mosfets nearby which are all more likely to heat up from a short than the inductor. Also see if you can get a thermal image of the back of the board - heat could be coming from there as well. If you have a thermal camera, perhaps post the image from that?
