Hi,
The M2 SSD of my sister laptop has an electrical defect making it undetectable by any kind of software / hardware (Disk and device manager on windows and Disk Utility on Mac. Doesn't event let my computer post when plug on the motherboard). After a closer inspection I noticed 2 LED on the SSD that never turn on so I suspect a faulty component on the controller. As I live in France I've asked several data recovery company there for an estimate cost of data recovery but they all answer with 1000€+ invoice which is way too much for me.
So, having an engineering background and some experience in electronics and soldering, and after watching NorthridgeFix youtube channel I thought it could worth a shot to troubleshoot it myself if it's simply a capacitor or resistor that is burnt. I prefer to spend 300-400€ on specialized tools for SMD soldering than 1000€...
Thing is, this is very difficult without a schematic and component value, so I'm asking here if somehow someone had access or have information about my particular SSD.
It was inside a Macbook Air (2013-2017).
Serial Number : ZG18NX0H465431
MSIP-REM-SEC-ZG-S2560
PCB Serial Number : SM2263XT_BGA132X4_M2_V12_6L_T0629
After some googling, I found this SSD that look very very similar : https://www.ebay.fr/itm/134105671908
Which suggest it is an SSD manufactured by KingBank.
If anyone have suggestion or information to tackle this issue let me know !
Thank you for your time.
