Hi,

I've got a Lenovo S8-50F that belonged to my late son and I'm hoping someone can confirm what I believe is wrong with it.

I've tested L1B6 (APL3511B) and I've got ~1v on the top right and 5V on the top left which looks about right. On my board that device has been getting really hot and expanded, but I think it's hanging on in there.

I believe the fault is with 7277B (APW7277BQBI-TRG) as the device doesn't charge or power on with a charged battery.

I've watched your Nintendo Switch QFN fix on Youtube and think I should be able to swap 7277B.

Thoughts?

Warm regards,

Jim

PS, I would post it for repair but it would cost quite a lot to post from the UK 🙁

Hi folks,

I've managed to remove the 2 components on the board but sadly took a few tiny capacitors/resistors with them.

The pin in yellow seems to have spot welded itself to the pad so it was a bugger to remove.

Would anyone hazzard a guess at what the components missing with the red circles might be from the original photo?

Many thanks,

James

Hi guys,

Well, I sussed out what went where and after many hours I managed to replace the missing resistors (0.75mm long) and other components from a donor board.

It's taken me many hours, I've had to purchase many tools I'll probably never use again but, I got it working.

The moral of this story is, sometimes you can fix things yourself but, I really wished we had someone like Northridgefix in the UK 😉

Warm regards,

James
