I have a 2019 MacBook Pro that boots up, but the backlight isn't working. I checked for a short to ground, but there doesn't appear to be one. I checked the backlight cable at the display and it's has a 5v and 1v point. I did find that the battery doesn't have any voltage reading, even when left on charge for a few hours. The system is reading the battery, but shows "Needs Service.
Could the lcd backlight not be working because of the faulty battery? Any thoughts on what the issue would be?
