Hallo, I am having difficulties soldering frp connectors on motherboards. They wont stick to the motherboard. I check with a multimeter in diode mode that the pins have connection with the pads. But when I connect a flex cable and then take it off, the frp connector comes loose. Do I need some special solder? The solder I use now comes from China and it was cheap. That is why I bought it. Or am I using wrong technique?
i think it's a wrong technique. when you measure it with a multi, you just press the pin connector so it's makin contact with the pads. make sure the tin is melting and press down with you squeezer a bit before you let go the hot air gun.
- Renew the tin on the board
- place down the connector
- heats up.
- wait for the tin melt.
- press down the connector with squeezer.
- lift your hot air gun
- still pressing down the connector for a bit and then let go the squeezer.
