im looking to identify a component on my ECM for 1998 ford ranger 2.5 part number F87F-12A650-UB

this small round component burned when my son jumper cables touched together

looks like a inrush current limiter.

Looks like a thermistor. Or voltage dependent resistor.

I concur with Steve, looks like a Varistor to me. The SOIC on the right looks like it took some battle damage too, or the legs just have odd lighting. Recommend hitting up a Pick N Pull/U Pull It/etc for a donor module and making a franken-ECU. Makes me miss my '95 Danger Ranger!
