Just got the mechanic vc04 short killer, and at first the amp output in the lcd display would fluctuate when probing components, with black lead to ground. I probed using all 3 voltage outputs. Then, since the following day it's been stuck at 4.095 amps in display, and the same component doesn't appear to be heating up anymore.

any idea what cause it? (pls, see pics, showing amp output same for 0 and 1200 v; probes not connected to any PCB).
