So, here's my issue; I was trying to repair a ripped off tracer and I ground away too much of the copper. Now there's a hole in the board not all the way through but the copper is gone. Can I just solder the jumper wire to the surrounding edge where there's still copper?

Holy crap! What did you do? I don't think there's a trace left.
Did you use your dad's 1/2" drill? You ground on all those resistors and chips too.
