I am writing because I have a dual switching power supply with an SMD diode marked PJ501. I know for sure it is a diode (not really sure it is a zener or not).
Does anyone know how to translate the code from the "ninth dimension" to ours? 🙂

The best way to get an answer for this type of parts question is to include a picture of the part. This will help to determine not only the part, but the packaging type as well. You can search the web using the phrase "SMD CODE". This will likely provide a link to the "codebook" and you can look up the code there. Note that the same code will mean different things sometimes based upon the package style. If the part here has the 2 letter code PJ followed by or with 501 underneath the letters, look up the SMD code PJ. A quick scan shows that this code can be an LDO regulator or a Zener diode. More info needed to get more specific.

I made a mistake in the previous message. The diode is SMA packaged, black package with the white band for cathode. (see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DO-214). It is marked as PJ511K. On the PCB, that component is marked with D4.
