Hello all,

Does anybody know if there is a way to re-enable TrueTone after screen replacement on an Iphone 11 Pro? I replaced the screen with a compatible one (very good spare part, indeed) but not Apple original. TrueTone is not working now and it is not clear if there is a way to fix it.

thanks in advance for the help!

ciao from Italy.

Franco Maria

there is no magic turn on unfortunately. you go to display and brightness, and turn it on. . . . if the screen supports it, it will work. and your stuck in the middle as apple has released iPhone 12 and 13 screens, but not 11. and 11 is one of those where it will give a warning if not done by apple, have you gotten that message? I won't touch an iPhone 11, I turn them down until apple releases the parts for them.

Thanks Florida Apple Mac Pros.

I replaced the screen by myself on my iPhone 11 Pro with a good replacement but not original from Apple. Yes, I now have a permanent warning message in the "settings" menù of my phone (I don't actually care about this part). The more annoying part is TrueTone. Without it, the screen is on average brighter than before with an increased consumption of battery. As I did the replacement few days ago, I am trying to validate the last statement in a more formal way.

I will let you know. thanks for your answer.

best,

FM

Hi Franco Maria,

In order to restore true tone you need a programmer like iCopy, JCID V1SE,…
Then you can copy the serial number from the original screen to the aftermarket screen and you have the true tone option restored. 🙂

Best regards,
Marco
