Ask UsCategory: Components and partsPC not reading HDD

My HDD does spin up and you can hear the arms clicking to read the disk, but the rhythm of the clicking is not the normal. I switched out the board with other identical drives I have but did not work, which lead me to your video about changing out the bios chip into new board. I’m not sure that this will fix my problem since everything appears to be working and I’m hoping it is NOT an internal issue with the HDD.
My question is if the HDD is spinning and arms are clicking to read the disks, would that be a board problem? or are the arms stuck inside or something?
