I increased the voltage up to 1.7 volts and a draw of 3 ampere was shown. Unfortunately, I could feel the GPU was getting hot only. I could not feel heat at other parts. So, it seems to be a dead GPU from my perspective.

Anything else that I could check?

Inject voltage only if you identify a short. Dont inject voltage if there is no short or no current draw. Did you try the card in another PCIE slot or in another PC?. It could be a PCIE Slot or motherboard problem also.

Yes, I checked all larger SMD caps and all through hole caps. No shorts..

I injected 1 volt already but there was no amp draw. I'm a bit afraid that 2 volts could fry the GPU.

Unfortunately, I do not have thermal cam, I have to touch the board to find the heat spot.

Did you check the caps? inject 2v volt and use termal camera to inspect the short.

Hello everyone,

I have got a problem with a GTX 1050 TI 4GB OC graphics card from MSI. When I start the PC with that card the screen stays black, but the fans at the card are spinning.

Measuring the resistance at all the coins at the card shows no shorts, except the coin at the vcore line right before the GPU shows 1.9 ohms only. So, I first thought it is a short of the GPU or of one of the mosfets. However, the mosfets are all OK and the voltage at that coil during operation is at 0.85V which seems to be OK for this card from my perspective too. The voltages at the other coils at that card seems to be OK too.

Does anyone here has an idea what could be the issue and what to check next to identify the defective component?
